Car Insurance Chrysler (Car Insurance). Whats wrong with the door locks on my 2000 Explorer?

Whats wrong with the door locks on my 2000 Explorer? I have a 2000 Ford Explorer. When I bought the car a few years ago, all of the power locks and unlocks worked. But for the past year or so, the power locks have stopped working (with the key remote, the keyless entry, the driver and passenger switches), but the switch in the trunk has been working fine. All of the unlock switches have been working, its just the lock parts that haven't been working. But the other day, the switch in the trunk stopped forking for both locking and unlocking. All of the other unlock switches work, except for that one. It is just the locks. I know it is not the motors because they sound strong when you unlock them. does anyone know what the problem could be and advice on how to fix it myself?

You might check the master switch (Drivers Door). If it malfunctions, the other switches do not work check the battery in your remote. some auto parts can check that for you. Check the relay. I am sure you can change the switches yourself. Before you buy any switch you can use a jump wire to make sure that is the problem. ITS AMAZINGHere: http://pageflakes.info/199718/lock-parts

Chrysler . How to Lower a 2004 Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado has been a vehicle ripe for customization since it was first introduced. Like other Chevrolet vehicles, the 2004 Silverado suspension is set up utilizing leaf springs in the rear with spindles in the front. Two-wheel drive trucks can be lowered using simple-to-install lowering blocks into the rear suspension and replacement spindles on the front suspension.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Automotive jack
Jack stands
Lug wrench
Rear lowering block kit
3/8-inch drive socket set
Front spindle lowering kitInstall the Rear Lowering Blocks

Step by Step :
1
Jack up the truck and support the frame with jack stands. Use the lug wrench to remove the lug nuts securing the wheels to the axle, then remove the wheels and tires from all four corners of the truck.
2
Position the jack under the rear axle of the truck. Locate the four U-shaped shackles which secure the rear axle to the leaf spring suspension. Unbolt them from the mounting plate on the bottom arch of the leaf spring and remove them. You will not need to retain the shackles, as the lowering block kit includes new, longer shackles.
3
Jack up the rear axle of the truck and then slide a lowering block onto the plate located on the top of the leaf spring where the rear axle was mounted. Do this on both sides of the truck.
4
Place the new replacement shackles over the top of the rear axle and down past the lowering block, then through the mounting plate on the leaf spring. Tighten the new bolts down onto the shackles to secure the axle, lowering block and leaf spring together on both sides of the truck. Reinstall the truck's wheels onto the rear of the truck.
Install the Front Lowering Spindles

Step by Step :
1
Study the front suspension setup. Immediately in front of you you will see the disc brake with the brake caliper on the right-hand side of the disc. These parts are mounted onto the spindle of the truck. Immediately above the brake disc you will see the upper ball joint bolt, and below the disc is the lower ball joint bolt. To the left of the brake disc is the tie rod. Connecting the suspension to the frame of the truck are the upper control arm and the lower control arm. They are both A-shaped and connect from the ball joints to the frame.
2
Unbolt the brake caliper with the socket wrench and then let it hang gently to the side of the brake. You won't need tools to pull the brake disc off the spindle. Behind the brake disc you will see the wheel hub. Behind this is the wheel bearing. Use a screwdriver to remove the metal cover from the wheel hub and then remove the nut you find there. Pull the hub off the spindle.
3
Support the lower control arm with the jack and then remove the upper ball joint nut. Use the socket wrench to remove the tie rod nut, then remove the lower ball joint nut. Push the upper control arm up with your hand, then remove the stock spindle.
4
Install the drop suspension spindle onto the lower control arm, then the upper control arm. Finally, install the tie rod bolt into the spindle and secure it with its nut. Secure the upper and lower ball joints into place with their respective nuts.
5
Reinstall the hub assembly with the wheel bearings, then the brakes. Reinstall the wheels and tires of the truck. Installation of the lowering spindle is the same on both the driver's and passenger's side of the truck.
Tips & Warnings
If necessary, consider performing a routine brake service and check the truck's ball joints while the front suspension is disassembled.

Chrysler . How to Lower an '86 Chevy Truck

The second-to-last year that Chevrolet produced its third generation model pickup truck was 1986. Recently, these trucks have begun to gain a following in both the restoration and customization world due to the ease with which they can be found in solid running condition, as well as the clean, uncluttered body styling that allows custom truck enthusiasts to unleash their creative talents. Lowering these trucks using the standard rear block and front spindle replacement is the easiest, least expensive and the best way to maintain the ride characteristics of the stock vehicle while bringing it significantly closer to the pavement.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Automotive jack
Jack stands
Lug wrench
1/2-inch-drive socket set
1/2-inch-drive hex bits
Small flat-head screwdriver
Rear axle lowering block kit
Front spindle lowering kitInstall the Rear Block

Step by Step :
1
Jack up the truck, then use jack stands to support its frame. Use the lug wrench to remove the wheel lugs, then pull the wheels off of the hubs and set them aside.
2
Support the rear axle of the truck with the jack, then examine the suspension components. The axle is mounted to the leaf spring suspension with two shackles on each side of the truck. The shackles are installed over the top of the axle housing and then down through a mounting plate attached to the bottom of the leaf spring. Under the mounting plate, there are four nuts which secure the shackle to the mounting plate.
3
Unbolt the shackles using the 1/2-inch drive socket set. With the bolts removed, push the shackles up and out of the mounting plate, then over and off of the axle.
4
Use the jack to raise the axle of the truck until you can slide one of the suspension blocks between the axle and the leaf spring. With the block in place, install the replacement shackles over the top of the axle, then through the mounting plate on the leaf spring. Secure the shackles with the nuts provided with the lowering block kit. The installation procedure is the same on both the driver and passenger side of the truck.
Install the Front Lowering Spindles

Step by Step :
1
Examine the front suspension components of the truck. The disc brake is located immediately in front of you, with the brake caliper located on the brake disc and situated toward the back of the truck. Above the brake disc is the upper control arm and the upper ball joint. Situated toward the front of the truck is the tie rod, which is bolted to the steering arm of the spindle. Below the brake disc is the lower control arm and the lower ball joint nut.
2
Unbolt the brake caliper using the ratchet fitted with a hex bit, then remove it from the brake disc and allow it to hang gently to the side of the spindle. Pull the brake disc off of the wheel lugs. No tools are necessary to pull off the brake disc. Behind the brake disc, you will see the wheel lugs mounted to the wheel hub. There is a metal cover which protects the inner hub and retains grease. Use a small screwdriver to pry off the metal cover and reveal the nut below.
3
Use the socket wrench to remove the bolt located within the center of the wheel hub. With the bolt removed, the hub can be slipped off of the spindle shaft.
4
Unbolt the tie rod from the steering arm of the spindle, then allow the tie rod to hang to the side. Support the lower control arm with the jack and then remove the upper and lower ball joint nuts. Lift the upper control arm with your hands to release and remove the spindle from its mounting position, then install the replacement spindle onto the control arms. Install and tighten the ball joint nuts, then bolt the tie rod to the the steering arm of the spindle.
5
Reassemble the hub and the brake components of the truck. The installation procedure for the spindles is the same on both the driver and passenger side of the truck.
Tips & Warnings
While the spindle is removed from the truck, check if the ball joints need servicing.

inside of each window so that you can see at a glance which side the streaks are on when you're wiping off the cleaner. (I always carry a little spray bottle of glass cleaner and a clean soft rag in my car to spruce up the windshield when visibility gets cloudy.) v0 lift your windshield wipers away from the glass to clean under them, and don't forget to wipe the wipers, too. A dirty blade can streak or scratch the glass. Check for dead leaves that may have accumulated in the well under the wipers and remove them by hand or with a vacuum that can handle larger objects. 1034 Car Insurance 2006 ford f150 super cab fx4pickup4d512ft 379687

Part V: He|in9Your Car Look lts Best p If you have a convertible with a plastic rear window, that window may become cloudy from oxidation, especially if the hot sun shines on it constantly. Excellent conditioners designed to keep plastic windows clear and supple without scratching them are available. If your car's rear window is already clouded beyond visibility, Meguiar's Plastic Cleaner is a unique heavy-duty product that polishes the cloudy stuff right off the window, leaving it relatively clear again. If you must park your car where the sun can shine directly on its plastic window for long periods of time, cover the outside of the window with an old towel to protect it from the sun. Chrome and metal trim Several excellent polishes are designed specifically to clean chrome without scratching the delicate layer of plating. These preparations not only clean the metal without scratching it but also retard rust and leave the surface bright and shining. You can use chrome polish on other metal surfaces, too. Here are some tips for polishing chrome and metal trim: V Try not to get the polish on the surrounding paint. The polish can discolor the paint. V Be sure to do the inside surfaces of the bumpers, too, if you can reach them. And don't forget the metal hubcaps or wheel covers and the metal frames around the lights and side mirrors. U* If you find rust on any metal area, get rid of the stuff immediately! For instructions, rush directly to the section on rust removal in Chapter 24. M* After you clean the metal surfaces, wax them to prevent rust from forming. Use a special wax designed for chrome bumpers and metal surfaces, because these areas require more protection than painted surfaces do. Other types of wax may prevent the chrome from getting the oxygen it needs to preserve its shine.

Tires Be sure to clean the tires whenever you wash your car. (You wouldn't take a bath without washing your feet, would you?) Use mild soap or dish detergent to remove dirt and grease. A brush or kitchen scouring pad removes the stubborn stuff, but before you go at it like you're scrubbing your bathroom grout, be sure to wet the tires. Never use gasoline or kerosene to clean tires. If your car has whitewalls that are extremely dirty or greasy, you may have to resort to a special whitewall cleaner to restore them to their original pristine good looks. If you want your tires to look extremely shiny and spiffy, here's an inside tip: Car dealers and people with show cars have been known to wax their tires with Lemon Pledge furniture polish! Extremely scuffed tires can be painted with "tire black," a preparation for that purpose sold at auto supply stores. Whether or not you're going for appearances, I suggest that you spray your tires with a silicone lubricant every once in a while to preserve the rubber. .Chapter 23: Keeping Your Car Clean and Beautiful A7Q Coni/ertibte tops If you have a convertible with a cloth top (also known as a ragtop), keep it clean by vacuuming it often or by using a whisk broom to get the dust out of the areas around the trim. This is not just a matter of cleanliness; the dirt can cause the fabric to rot away if it's allowed to remain there. Do the following to keep your ragtop in good shape: Check the top occasionally to make sure that it's not getting caught in the mechanism that raises and lowers it. This can leave greasy streaks on the fabric, weaken it, and cause it to tear. If your top has a plastic rear
